Dr. Justin Raanan is a Beverly Hills periodontist, born and raised in our beautiful city. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles for his undergraduate degree. He studied Anthropology Biological Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors with a Bachelor of Science. Early on, Dr. Raanan had a passion for dentistry. He gained acceptance to the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Through much studying, hard work, and a drive to succeed, he graduated with honors. Next, Dr. Raanan had the opportunity to specialize in the field of Periodontology. In this phase of his education and training, he attended the prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine wherein he received a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) in Oral Biology.

Dr. Raanan has researched the consequences of poor oral health and its effect on one’s overall health. Specifically, periodontitis is associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease. Patients with chronic gum disease have increased thickness in the blood vessels of their neck. In other words, numerous research has shown that the bacteria that causes gum disease is a leading factor in strokes and heart attacks. Dr. Raanan knows that oral health overlaps with your medical health. This belief has put him at the forefront of preventive dentistry.
